Established in 1999

We started our firm in hopes of working with people we liked on products and services we loved. For 20+ years, Here and Now (formerly Migdal-Underwood Consulting) has leveraged its collective experience in media, public relations, corporate communications, social media and marketing to drive results that make our clients glad they connected with us.  

Our Goal

We want to be considered your Swiss Army knife. But with a very sharp blade. We cut through the usual PR puffery and corporate communications jargon on local, regional and national levels for companies in the tech, e-commerce, software, travel, and health/wellness industries looking to increase their visibility and ultimately, sales. We have all the tools--sharpened and ready--and know how to use them. ​

The Co-Founders

Dave Migdal
Co-Founder

With more than 20 years’ experience in public relations, Dave Migdal, co-founder of Here and Now Public Relations (formerly Migdal-Underwood Consulting), is focused on driving exceptional results for companies. He has extensive experience working with Silicon Valley and local start-ups as well as multi-national corporations.

After beginning his career as a journalist, an exec at a PR agency read one of his articles in an in-flight magazine and called. Hello Agency Life....Dave quickly pivoted to public relations/corporate communications.

Dave began his PR career working on the Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority and Blue Cross/Blue Shield accounts before transitioning into tech. He later joined Sony Electronics to help launch the DVD, HDTV and high-resolution audio formats and became an integral voice for the company and with the media.

He has served on the board of Christians in Communications and is the former chairman of the Consumer Technology Association’s communications committee. Dave is a graduate of the University of Colorado.

Elaine Underwood
Co-Founder

Elaine’s extensive communications background covers all the major marketing platforms.

After an early stop as an advertising copywriter at Grey Advertising in New York City, Elaine became a business journalist, working for Adweek magazines, The New York Times and other publications.

She then shifted into the corporate world, working as an account director at two leading branding agencies, where she worked with consumer products, banking and tech companies.

Now, as a MARCOM and public relations consultant, Elaine brings together all the elements of her career, advising marketers on how to reach people through social, earned and owned media opportunities.

A content expert, Elaine creates strategic content plans, bylined articles, web copy, and more for business leaders and brands, such as Virgin Australia/Tourism Australia, Princess Cruises, Walmart, Chase Bank and many others. Recent clients have included Nosto artificial intelligence for e-commerce, cybersecurity specialist RANK Software, Uvero headphones, and No Kid Hungry. Elaine is a University of Texas graduate.

Senior Leadership 24/7

Unlike many agencies who bring the big guns in for the pitch and then vanish, you'll have one (or both) of our co-founders on your business at all times.  Our experience saves time and creates results that exceed expectations. And speaking of time, our network of colleagues are spread throughout the country so when the East Coast starts to shut down, us West Coasters are in high gear. (Yes, we do in fact love coffee...).
